Hydration and Your Skin
When you drink water, it provides essential nutrients to the cells in your body—including those in your skin. If you suffer from chronically dry skin, one of the reasons may be that you are not drinking enough water. There is no known direct connection between drinking water and improving your skin tone, but staying hydrated is essential to keeping a healthy physique and feeling good.
Keeping adequately hydrated can be difficult during the summer months, so it’s important to carry a water bottle and drink fluids throughout the day. According to the Institute of Medicine, men should drink at least 3 liters of fluids per day, while women should drink at least 2.2 liters. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables will also help to ward off dehydration.
